Information: Meeting held at the Academy dedicated to the 3 March and the 8 March

     Meeting held at the Academy was dedicated to the 3 March – Mothers’ Day and the 8 March - International Women’s Day.

On the 7th of March, in the Meeting Hall of the GAAS, the Administration of the Academy together with the local organization of Trade Unions organized a meeting dedicated to the International Women’s Day and Mothers’ Day. See a link with more information.

   

Information International Forum in Kirgizia

Bishkek 2016 1 Acad. G. Aleksidze delivered the paper on the Forum

     The President of Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Acad. Guram Aleksidze from February 29 – till March 2, was in Bishkek ( Kirgizia), where he participated in International Forum dedicated to the problems of food safety and soil fertility in Eurasia. The Forum organizers were The World Bank, Global Forum, Food and Agriculture Organization, Eurasia Fund, “CACAARI”, “ICARDA”, “CIMMYT”, “IFPRI” , and other donor organizations. The participants were: the representatives of all countries from Central Asia and South Caucasus, Russia (Lomonosov State University), Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Turkey and other countries representatives.

     Two sections were working: Food safety and soil protection. Acad. Guram Aleksidze presented his article on: “The Priorities of Agrarian Researches in Georgia.” The Head of Melioration Department of Georgian Ministry of Agriculture Ekaterine Sanadze spoke about “Soil Protection in Georgia. Also the General Director of Farmers’ House Leri Gigineishvili discussed the problems of Georgian farmers on the forum.

      At the end of the Forum the Bishkek Declaration was adopted by the participants. Bishkek 2016 2A group of International Forum participants.

     On the 23rd of February, 2016, the Scientific Board of Georgian Academy in accordance with due regulation revealed the best scientific works - fundamental, educational and applied researches in different areas of agricultural sciences:

Agronomy: The members of the national Academy of Georgia: Tengiz Urushadze, Dr. Amiran Tkhelidze, and Dr. Giorgi Gambashidze, for scientific work “ Georgian Soils”.

Cattle Breeding, Veterinary and Food Production – Academician of Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences G. Tkemaladze “ The Fundamentals of Bio-chemistry”;/p>

Agro-engineering - The Professor of Technical University, Doctor of technical Sciences Irakli Kruashvili for his scientific work: “Landslides and the Methods of fighting”.

Keeping and Processing of Agricultural Products - აAcademician of GAAS Nugzar Baghaturia. “ Enology –Wine Production and Aging”; /p>

Food Safety – The Head of Risk Assessment Scientific-Consulting Council of Agricultural Scientific- Research Center, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Kate Dadiani for her scientific work: “For the Assessment of Chemical Contamination of Environment”;

Economy – The Academician of GAAS Nodar Chitanava “Georgian Agriculture – Transformation, Problems and Perspectives.”

Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences sincerely congratulates the winners of the Contest, the authors of the scientific works with the honorable reward and wishes the further fruitful scientific work.

Memorandum Between the GAAS and Telecompany “Saperavi”

     On February 23, 2016, a memorandum between the employees of GAAS and telecompany “Saperavi” was signed, through, it should be mentioned that the cooperation between the two subjects has long started and there have been a number of programs on the channel dedicated to the problems of agriculture.

In future, they are planning to highlight more important activities and changes going on in the area of agriculture. From the side of the Academy the document was signed by the president of GAAS, Acad. G. Aleksidze, and from the side of “Saperavi” – by Dimitry Kostariov.
