Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences has new members:

Election of the Academicians

On December 28, 2017, a meeting of the members of Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences was held. The agenda was as follows:

1.     Information about the membership candidates on the following vacancies: Specialty 0101– agronomy; Specialization 010103 – agro-technology; Specialty 0415  - agro-engineering;  Specialization 041502 - mechanization of agriculture; Specialty 0104 – food processing technologies. Presenter: Academician Guram Aleksidze, GAAS.

2.      Discussion of the Conclusion regarding - Organization of the Elections of Academicians to fill in the Vacancies at the GAAS. The document has been prepared in accordance with the order  ( 01/51 16.11.17) of the President of GAAS.

Presenter: the Head of the Commission for Contest Preparation – Acad. N. Chitanava.

3.     Elections of the candidates to occupy the following vacancies at Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences: Information about the membership candidates for the following vacancies: Specialty 0101– agronomy; Specialty 010103 – agro-technology; specialization 0415  - agro-engineering;  Specialty 041502 - mechanization of agriculture; specialization 0104 – food processing technologies.

The elections were held using blind balloting and the following persons were elected to occupy the vacancies at the Academy:        

The Agro-Scientific Department: Specialty 0101– Agronomy; Specialization 010103 – “Agro-technology” -

Ronald Kopaliani – Doctor of Agricultural Sciences. The Head of Rector Office at Tsereteli State University. Full Professor of Sub-tropical Cultures of Agrarian Department.

In the Agro-engineering Department: Specialty - 0415  - agro-engineering;  specialization 041502 - Mechanization of Agriculture - 

 Zaur Putkaradze, Doctor of Sciences, Information Technologies, Mechanization of Agriculture, Associate Professor of Batumi State Naval Academy. Associate Professor;  Head of Ajara Scientific - Consulting Center of Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences.      

In the Scientific Department of Preserving and Keeping of Agricultural Products.

Specialty: 0104 – food processing technologies.

Teimuraz Revishvili. Doctor of Technical Sciences. Director of the Institute of Tea, and Sub- Tropical Cultures of Georgian Agrarian University; Head of Engineering and Technological laboratory.
